![]() In space combat, you take control of your CAG character and lead your squadrons on a variety of missions, including fleet defense, asset denial (blow up resurrection ship), counter-ambush (engage the cylons tailing you so your fleet doesn't get attacked) Recon (use a Raptor or the Blackbird to scout the nearby cylon presence in a space stealth mission). Scrapping a ship for spare parts nets you a boon of resources and lowers tylium consumption, but leads to higher unrest from the displaced civilians. Managing food, water and repairs is a balancing act to keep ships from rebelling. On a Fleet level, you have to manage food, fuel, water, and repairs to your fleet. You decide what systems to send Raptor recon teams and based on the intel they send back (resources, tactical/strategic objectives, cylon presence), choose which system you want to jump to. In a completely stand-alone universe separate from the TV series, you, the player are in command of your own Galactica and it's up to you to get your fleet to Earth. The gameplay of Call of Duty Infinite Warfare spliced with the space combat mechanics of House of the Dying Sun, the strategic map elements from HighFleet, and the narrative RPG elements of Mass Effect. Would you have launched a missile against Bulldog? Would you unwittingly harbor a Cylon infiltrator? etc. Storyline would diverge depending on decisions made. Last idea is a Mass Effect type of game wherein you're a captain of a battlestar during the Cylon War and have to deal with the complex moralities - are you a Cain who thinks the Cylons are unfeeling machines who deserve to be killed or an Adama who thinks morality is equally important as surviving. I'm picturing something like Deadlock, but with some additional features like expansions for ships, scenarios, planets - in effect turning it into Star Wars Empire at War wherein you can play out the 1st Cylon War (maybe a battle scenario for the Ghost Fleet offensive perhaps in a smaller quadrant of their galaxy) or the 2nd Cylon War WI scenario wherein the Colonial Fleet remains effective to an extent.Īlternately something like Harpoon within the BSG universe would be awesome as well - fighting with a Battlestar group against the Cylons and managing the KEWs, missiles, air-wing (offensive against Basestars, defensive flak against missile swarms or Raiders) ![]() Otherwise it’s seamless and the fleet is one insanely enormous map, kind of like GTA V or Star Citizen. The only loading screens are between story chapters. ![]() Olmos, Sackhoff, Bamber, Callis, Helfer, Hogan, McDonnell, and all the main principle cast are brought in to voice-over any cameos with the main characters you may encounter in the game as part of the storyline, even if briefly.īear McReary provides the music sound track for the title. The game ends when you get to Earth 2 (the Colony attack is BY FAR the hardest mission that would cause a lot of rage quits). The game follows the storyline of the BSG reimagined series, but you play a "side character" not seen in the main show and take care of missions and accomplish things that indirectly lead to the events in the show. You can walk around the entire battlestars as well as the interiors of each ship in the fleet. Maybe one mission takes place on New Caprica (the rescue mission). There would be "Cylon Battles" where the Cylons would catch up and you'd have the choice of hopping into a Viper or Raptor to help fight off Raiders as the fleet gets set to jump, or you could man one of the Galactica's (or Pegasus') guns. You can fly Vipers, Raptors, shuttles of any kind between the ships to enter them and accomplish quests or missions from within the fleet. YOU make all the decisions, and have a "blank canvas" to work with.Īn "open world" first-person game where you can travel between any ship in the fleet. RDS Down: If you’re buying down products, you should make sure they meet the Responsible Down Standard (RDS), as this jacket does. ![]() Down and water should never mix (except when you wash your puffy once per season). The DWR held up to my testing, but I would still advise you to be careful wearing any down jacket out in wet weather. That means you can wear it in mist or light rain without getting drenched because the water will bead and roll off without soaking into the down. The pockets are deep and zip shut, so my keys/phone/snacks (mostly just snacks, if I’m being honest) never fall out.ĭWR finish: The CirrusLite’s StormRepel DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish allows the jacket to repel light moisture. Zipper pockets: You almost can’t tell from looking at a picture of this jacket, but the CirrusLite boasts two generous, cunningly concealed handwarmer pockets on either side of the main zipper. However, there is a hooded version of the CirrusLite if you’re looking for something even warmer. The hoodless design makes this puffy lighter and less bulky. The high neck does noticeably boost the warmth of this jacket. I found it very comfortable even when fully zipped up to my neck. Fortunately, the CirrusLite’s collar isn’t too high or too snug. ![]() I worried that this might be uncomfortable, as turtlenecks and the like usually make my throat feel constricted. High neck: The CirrusLite jacket has a relatively high (~2-inch) collar to cut out the draft. ![]()
What I don't know is whether this is still seen as a promising avenue of research, or if it's been pushed to the side due to repeated pilot studies with limited effect sizes. I believe there is some research on what frequencies are associated with certain EEG findings, but they are not well correlated with changes in subjective or objective markers. ![]() However, the simple truth is that anyone who claims it is well understood is lying, as the science is just not there yet. There are some people who claim that they understand which tones/frequencies have X, Y, or Z effect on the brain/mood/anxiety/stress/etc. Basically, we don't know what any of it means. What people don't know is why this happens, how it happens, and what the potential uses of it could be in treating various mental health issues/improving quality of life. Here is what I do know that may help clear some things up:Ĭertain sound frequencies DO have an effect on EEG brain recordings. I really hope someone with more knowledge on this topic comes along, as I am certainly not well-read on this topic. So please, Inform me, since most of what I found was "shrug iono maybe it exists/works" Personally I'm skeptical of the whole field, but then again I'm skeptical of all things I am not well informed in. So I was hoping on some professional explanation and opinions. Angry music exists too, so there is really some form of emotional something with music, and it's not ALL based on lyrics. We listen to a sad song, and we are sad, or a song that makes us happy really lifts us up and pumps us up. I cannot deny that music does have an effect on my mood. I am somewhat familiar with what it is but on the little research I did, I can't find any valid claims on it.ġ) What are Binaural Beats specifically, and do they workģ) To what extent do they do what they claim?Ĥ) Is there any relationship to these beats and why music does what it does? We check for (but don’t require) compatibility with Microsoft’s Internet Explorer and Edge browsers, as well as with Opera. The extensions are responsible for autofilling passwords and other forms, as well as for generating and saving new passwords when you change one or make a new account. Web browser compatibility: We test only those password managers that offer browser extensions for Chrome, Firefox, and Safari.Support for Chrome OS is generally covered by Chrome browser extensions. We note Linux compatibility but don’t require it. Desktop and laptop compatibility: A password manager should have a Windows and macOS app that you can use to browse, add, and edit your information. ![]() We look at three different kinds of compatibility. Password managers should receive frequent updates, especially after large operating system changes (like the launch of Windows 11 or macOS Monterey), which helps plug any security holes and shows that the developers are regularly working on the app. Compatibility: A great password manager runs on just about anything, regardless of what hardware and software you and your family use.A good password manager should offer cloud syncing so that your passwords remain accessible anywhere on an unlimited number of devices. Sync between devices (and no limits on the number of devices you can use): You probably have more than one device that you use every day, between your home computer, your work computer, your phone, and your laptop.Unlimited password storage: Any paid password manager should be able to store an unlimited number of passwords and other records, and enough free ones offer unlimited storage that you shouldn’t settle for less.Privacy: A password manager shouldn’t share data with third parties for advertising, so we check both the privacy policies and the mobile apps to confirm that they aren’t sharing data they aren’t supposed to.Security audits aren’t perfect-they offer just a snapshot of the software and infrastructure-but they are a signal of trust and transparency. But those promises of security only go so far, so we require that any password managers we recommend participate in regular third-party security audits (preferably audits that they make public) and have a bug-bounty program. A good password manager needs to use strong encryption to protect your data on your computer, on your password manager’s server, and when your data is moving between the two. Good protection for your passwords: You’re trusting your password manager with your entire digital existence, and your password manager should store your data securely.Regardless of the password manager you use, it’s important to protect your data with a strong master password-we have advice for how to do that below. Bitwarden works on the same devices as 1Password, so you can use it with any computer, phone, tablet, or browser. But the free version of Bitwarden offers the core features you need in a password manager, including the ability to sync as many passwords as you want across as many devices as you own, support for software two-factor authentication, and sharing between two people with separate logins using a two-person organization. Plus, Bitwarden isn’t as polished overall and lacks the in-app guidance of 1Password, which makes it harder for beginners to get the hang of. If you enrolled in two-factor authentication before March 21, 2016:The free version of Bitwarden gets the basics right and doesn’t cost a thing, but it lacks a few features that make 1Password such a standout option, such as password checkups and 1 GB of encrypted storage (all features you can find in Bitwarden’s reasonably priced, $10-per-year premium plan). Requests will appear on this screen even if you did not receive a push notification. Pull down on the list to refresh for new requests. Note: You can also approve or deny your login requests from within the app by tapping Security, then tapping Login Requests. You can opt into this by clicking request a code sent to your phone via text message when you log in to your account on. You may also receive a login code via SMS text message. Once you approve, you will be immediately logged in to your account on. Open the push notification to approve the login request. When you log in to your account on or on another device using X for iOS, X for Android, or, a push notification may be sent to your phone. If you enrolled in login verification before March 21, 2016: Security keys can be used as your sole authentication method, without any other methods turned on. ![]() Note: If you add a security key for additional two-factor authentication protection, we no longer require using another backup method for more protection. I haven't yet pulled off a magma piston, though. Though I must admit that it's probably my fault too, for not making enough picks and put my professional hauler waves to use as miners. I have enough on my hands normally managing production orders and chains to do that, and my miners are usually very busy until late game carving out bedrooms complexes, cemeteries (I wouldn't call my shit a necropolis) and prospecting the map for minerals and magma as to dick around making room for furniture. It was about the first things I stumbled upon while picking up the game it's right there, and lo! hither came the caravans, and they found that my crafts were good.Įither way, your solutions require stockpile micromanagement. I appreciate it's an easy answer but it's so much not the best answer that I'm always surprised/frustrated that it's so entrenched. Seriously, does Captain Duck recommend mugging? I don't understand why it's the default answer for so many Urists. Enterprising magmawerks is limited by the immigration waves, not by the stacking/pistoning.Īnyways, enough about pedantry. Once Urist gets the hang of stacks or pistons it's eminently possible to have magmawerks up and running within a year (or two). But remember it's very possible to set up magmawerks PDQ.
